The best adventures can't be photographed; they live on in sore muscles, sun scorched faces, poems, and songs.

Actually rode down "The Loneliest Road in America" tonight. Nevada is beautiful, but it goes on and on and on and on.
Nevada is hot. Too hot.
Leaving Flagstaff onto somewhere in Nevada. Somewhere... not sure where yet.
I miss Smoggie Catt.
It was super fun and I felt very small;
and that, that was very awesome.
Many, many hours later Adam and I reached Flagstaff. Arizona.
New Mexico was a bit flat and boring for a while but as we neared Arizona there were plenty of giant rocks and hills. Adam and I stopped and climbed some. I'll post those pictures in another update.
Roswell as a city was boring, but watching the people was interesting. A lot like the Southeast USA then but a lot more Hispanic people. Quite beautiful seeing so many bilingual peoples. It's almost like being in another country.
But also a futuristic glimpse of what our country will be in the future; as far as language goes. I hope our country isn't like the Southeast in the future.
In Other News: I miss Smoggie Catt.
Much more awesome pictures on the way. Can't wait to share with you guys!
Goodbye Roswell!
Until I take over the world. Whatever that means exactly. Stuff! Stuff! Things!
Driving through the desert of New Mexico, full moon, 4:30 in the morning, listening to The National.
After leaving Houston Adam and I left for San Antonio. The town was much more beautiful than I remember. The river walk going through the town awesome. Much greener than I remember and some amazing architecture.
From there we left and went to Hondo and saw my grandparents. FIrst time in a few years. It was good to catch up. Then we switched off driving throughout the night and arrived in Roswell at about 6am. Driving throughout the night felt really amazing. Wide open road. I never noticed Texas had a hilly side.
Which brings me to first post. We found a place outside Roswell called Bottomless Lake State Park. Very rugged landscape, but a lot of the lakes have shrank in size, but you can walk amongst the ground. It's the closest thing I can imagine to what it would probably look like on Mars. Very martian looking.
Met up with an old friend Curtis: had some drinks, sang some drunken karaoke and ate at an AMAZING Tex- Mex Restaurant called "El Real." The restaurant was a big old theatre converted into a restaurant and the food was to die for.
Let me start by saying I am currently in Roswell, New Mexico. There are no sites of aliens or internet or much of anything for that matter. It's flat and brown. Not really impressed. I have pictures to share but Verizon doesn't have signal anywhere out here so alas no pictures.
Finally made it out of Texas. A lot more respect for the state than I had before, but glad to be out of it. Been in Roswell, New Mexico for about half an hour. Time to power nap and adventure. I'll post cool pictures and head thoughts this afternoon when we check into a hotel.
Looking down on the deserts of Nevada it looks fragile, desolate, and oddly majestic. I can't wait to explore vast foreign world on foot with Adam in a couple days.
I can't foresee myself ever living in such a world. I need my trees and forest for clarity, but there's a lot of magic and untapped adventure to be had here.
So many questions pass through my mind:
How many past peoples have crossed these colossal mountains of dust and gravel?
What did they know?
What did they think as they traversed this alien terrain?
What did they do?
Did they think what I do?
Did this the land home dinosaurs?
What kind of great treasures have been lost to the great sands?
Woke up at 4:40am. Been riding a plane since 6:30am. Slept until about 10:30am at which time i exited the plane briefly to buy a coffee and muffin.
After that I started listening to music (mostly Bon Iver and David Bowie) and reading "The Story of Stuff".
I bought the book in January, but forsook it to read other books for a while.
It's a great book. Heavy yet spoken in common people language; which I find essential when trying to convince people to change their habits and take care of our planet. Anyway, that's another subject for another time.
The last few days have been absolutely beautiful. Sunny and a nice cool breeze. Nice enough to wear a jacket comfortably.
But alas now I need to pack for this road trip! Meeting Adam in Texas tomorrow night then the adventures begin.
My Chemical Romance-Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)
(Na Na Na...)
Drugs, gimme drugs, gimme drugs
I don't need it, but I'll sell what you got
Take the cash and I'll keep it
Eight legs to the wall
Hit the gas, kill them all
And we crawl, and we crawl, and we crawl
You be my detonator
Love, gimme love, gimme love
I don't need it, but I'll take what I want from your heart
And I'll keep it in a bag, in a box
Put an X on the floor
Gimme more, gimme more, gimme more
Shut up and sing it with me
(Na Na Na...)
From mall security
To every enemy
We're on your property
Standing in V formation
(Na Na Na...)
Let's blow an artery
Eat plastic surgery
Keep your apology
Give us more detonation
(More! Gimme more! Gimme more!)
Oh, let me tell you 'bout the sad man
Shut up and let me see your jazz hands
Remember when you were a madman
Thought you was Batman
And hit the party with a gas can
Kiss me you animal
(Na Na Na...)
You run the company
Fuck like a Kennedy
I think we'd rather be
Burning your information
Let's blow an artery
Eat plastic surgery
Keep your apology
Give us more detonation
And right here
Right now
All the way in Battery City
Little children
Raise their open filthy palms
Like tiny daggers up to heaven
And all the juvee halls
And Ritalin rats
Ask the angels made from neon
And fucking garbage
Scream out "What will save us?"
And the sky opened up
Everybody wants to change the world
Everybody wants to change the world
But no one,
No one wants to die
Wanna try, wanna try, wanna try
Wanna try, wanna try, oh
I'll be your detonator
(Na Na Na...)
Make no apology
It's death or victory
On my authority
Crash and burn
Young and loaded
Drop like a bulletshell
Dress like a sleeper cell
I'd rather go to hell
Than be in purgatory
Cut my hair
Gag and bore me
Pull this pin
Let this world explode
I think too much.
It's fluffy, unmanageable, and I look like a teddy bear.
Take care of Mother Earth.
She's beautiful, fragile, and she takes care of you for fuck's sake!
It's the least you can do.
