Listened to the new album about 2 times now, but I must say I'm very impressed.
It has the "fa la la la la la" of the last albums with more "grown up/intimate" parts to make it one solid albums.
It has a cool Elvis/Flaming Lips/Modest Mouse vibe to it. Mix that with all the amazingness that you know and love about Vampire Weekend and you have the new album.
Well to me.. and that's a very abbreviated description. Mostly because my attention won't allow me to type much longer than that right now. But I know if I don't type this now I will forget to do so later.
Almost ready to start my Kickstarter, but alas I must wait for Amazon to say I'm a real person and that I really have a bank account. Which could take up to a week it says. I find that kind of lame.
So until that time; maybe I'll just post an interview with Smoggie Catt.
About to meet up with Paige and go over the last edits for this book! So stoked!
KIckstarter launching sometime this afternoon. Wish I had a more precise time; essentially when my colleague finishes up the art pieces.
Anyway... time to get some coffee in my bloodstream!
no specie is perfect
we all have our flaws
as for the humans; we've forgot how to crawl.
Learn to observe. Observe to learn.
I don't know how to put it into words, but my mind is racing with thoughts. That's nothing new, but I want to write them out.
I don't feel so well with the current situations in Washington D.C.
No empires last forever.
Guess I'll just make more coffee and keep thinking thoughts.
It's a Kings of Leon kind of day. I really enjoy their guitar riffs.
I think Smoggie Catt like them, too. She has been sitting by the laptop for about half the album. Oooops he just left.
Here's a snapshot from my book: Acorn Season (Poems, Proverbs, And Other Absurd Words).
I plan to put up a Kickstarter in the next few days and have this thing printed by the end June. Cover art by: Cody Pulliam. Anyway, let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
Smoggie Catt and I; we eat from the same potato spoon because that's what best friends do.
These newly bought "no show socks" aren't so hidden. What's that all about? They would make terrible hide and go seekers.
My coworker brought in a huge bag of gummy worms. I have made it my civil duty to eat as many as possible.
Also, gummy worms are probably the most fun food to play with. They have all the pretty colors of jello without the awkward mouth feels.
Since moving to Portland I have increased my espresso intake 100 fold. I have also come to the conclusion I do not like Starbucks espresso at all.
I have to add mad amounts of cinnamon and half & half to give an appealing taste; where most local shops I can drink my americano as is.
I can't wait for people to hear the music works. It's matured a lot since the Nausicaa days, but still does what Nausicaa does best.
Cody has been writing some insanely amazing riffs and Adam's drumming is more tamed than ever before and as you probably know; the only things scarier than an angry bear is an angry bear held in a cage.
All and all the music is giving me all the feels, and I can't wait to share it with everyone. Also I plan to post a snapshot of my book tonight after work. So be on the lookout for that.

Freshly washed skinny jeans are the essential checkpoint in every 21st Century Wannabe Rockstar's race to fame.
I started MJ Monday off watching "This Is It" for the second night in a row; which is good because the most of my day is making coffee to a generic playlist.
I have many words on the awesomeness of Michael Jackson, but I am not awake enough to sing any such praises at this moment.
Also, I'm ready to get into the music again. Get lost in it. Jamming again on Thursday Night.
Everything MJ did was so in sync with the music. The way he harmonized so well, the rhythm of his dance looked effortless and flawless, and damn his band in the "This Is It" film. Daaaammnnnn that guitar!
Also my book is almost ready to send to the printing stage.
I need to read more. I really do.
OOOooooh look I found the whole film on Youtube!
It's probably on Netflix, too.
I think you should watch it.
The rain clouds have returned to Portland, Oregon and all the neighborhood snails are making the migration across the great concrete plain.
These aren't the best pictures as I was in a hurry. I'll try to document their great migration at a later time. They were very magnificent creatures nonetheless.
The worst part of my night is having a slow internet connection. Life is alright.
When it speeds up; pictures of snails.
Sometimes I listen to Bon Iver because I want to and other times I listen to him because it's the only thing that fits the grey day, but most of the time I can't distinguish the difference. And that... that is okay, too.
