Some mornings it feels like I have no patience at all, every little thing annoys me, and nothing anyone says makes any sense; like I'm a visitor to a foreign land. This is one of those mornings.
I keep finding sand everywhere. In my shoes, in my backpack, even in my pockets. Makes me want to be closer to the coast. That would mean I need a car though.
My friend lent me his bike while he is out of town. I almost forgot how much I enjoy biking around and letting my mind wander. And now that I understand the basic layout of this city I understand why Portland is the bike capital of the United States. I love this city man.
With the exception of my pursuit of enlightenment versus insanity up the cliff side I took time to play with the sea urchins and waves of the ocean.
I know everyone says the Pacific Ocean is really cold, but I never felt more excited to splash around in water than yesterday.
I climbed up the cliff side. I slid down the cliff side. I lost my wallet. I played in the ocean's waves.

Happy Independence Day! As recent as 237 years ago a group of Americans stood up to the powers that be because they believed in a better life; just like the Egyptians are doing now.
Bring on the violence! Bring on the beer! I predict the next 50-100 years will be a memorable one for not just this country, but all of humanity.

I am currently trying to decide which pictures best describe the place without posting 20 pictures.
I met some really rad people and experienced genuine, rugged adventure. Alas it is far too beautiful outside to waste time in front of a computer so I will post more pictures later.
