Happy Christmas 2013

Happy Christmas 2013 from Smoggie Catt and Me. I truly believe the world can achieve a greater peace if we take time to think.

We all got a bit of magic in us. I encourage you to find it and share it. Let the friends you have know you appreciate them.

Take time to rest. I'm so thankful to be part of this forest I'm in.

The interweb is great, but there is a greater goodness in shared experience. Thank you to everyone who has taught me that.

Jackie, Jordyn, Joel, Cass, Josh, Daniel, Hero, Tracy, Astrid, Heather, Tylar, Kelsey.. and so many more; I like you all greatly (Smoggie does, too).

Thank you! Thank you for enhancing my story.

It's all fragmented realities and other star stuff so get lost in it. Happy Christmas 2013!

Christmas Eve Grocery List / Troutdale, Oregon

This past week I was fortunate enough to spend some time in Troutdale, Oregon just outside Portland.

I was able to sit by the Sandy River and bask in it's magic. Thank you fate for that opportunity.

I need to blog more in the eve of the happenings but so much happens that sometimes you just have to play catch up later.

These pictures are from said adventure.

My Christmas Eve Grocery List:

  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Grits
  • Eggs
  • Dave's Killer Bread
  • Strawberry Jam
  • Ninkasi Oatis Oatmeal Stout

Happy Christmas Eve to all!

Embrace all the magics life gives you!

Goodnight!

Happenings

I haven't been interwebbing as frequently lately.

I don't know what that means I'm doing with my time. I think I hang out with people some of that time.

I sleep between 1-4pm. The rest of the time I spend drawing pictures, drinking coffee, trying to read and not be distracted. All of that in no particular order: shuffled and repeated. Yeah that's what I'm doing.

Also, my books have come in! You can buy them from my interweb store.

Otherly, Christmas Time is upon us. It really doesn't feel like it. Maybe it does in a way. Hmmm...

I left my favorite coffee mug when I hung out with Cody the other day. I miss Floyd very much.

What else? I don't know right now.

Buy my book! Read it's words! Happy Christmas! Goodnight!

Business and Fluffy Things

Business: I think I fixed the error with my web store! You can properly buy my book from my website now! Just let me know if it's giving you nice people any more errors.

Don't forget I will have my physical copies sometime next week. I'll let you know exactly when i have them. So technically you're ordering from my site is a preorder.

You can buy it by clicking this pretty picture below:

If the idea of a preorder puts your nerves on edge you can also order the book at these other outlets:

off of AMAZON http://goo.gl/G4UwAz

Fluffy Things:

Smoggie and I fell asleep watching Ninja Turtles on the couch. It was the perfect end to a perfect day of wandering.

There was hot chocolate, Doritos, and cuddles.

Smoggie Catt is the best friend I could ever ask for.

Today!

Things I did in no particular order:

  • I drank coffee.
  • I woke up and got out of bed before 9am and didn't have work today.
  • Josh and I finalized the order for the first batch of Sleepwalking shirts.
  • I made eggs and yummy toast.
  • My book was officially published and is live on the world wide interwebs.
  • I bought a pair of glittens (glove/mittens). They are made of alpaca wool.
  • i bought marshmallows and stamps amongst other random things.
  • I got a new nose ring. Nothing fancy but it doesn't have the ball thing. Yay!
  • I wandered. I wandered a lot.
  • I saw the most astonishing colors as the sun set. It's one of those moments you want to share with everyone but don't think they would get why you're losing your wits.
  • I bought a new sketch pad.
  • I drank more coffee.
  • I did a lot of thinking about things and stuff. I need to write more of this down, but I didn't want to quit moving. It was cold and there was too much to be seeing.
  • I saw Joel and Cass. They are splendid people with a very vocal cat. Kind of like Smoggie Catt but more sass. Kind of like Denver Kitty.
  • Today was a beautiful day.
  • I am still anxiously awaiting the return of the rain.
  • I drew pictures.
  • I listened to music.
  • I lived and contemplated the act of living.
  • Today I was once again thankful to live in the Pacific Northwest corner of planet Earth where everywhere I look is magic.
  • Now I will let my imagination wander to the music of Muse.

My Book! It's Published!

Aaaaah!!! Remember that book I’ve been talking about writing? It’s published!

So yeah! It’s a thing! Aaaah!!

There are many places you can buy it!

  • On my publisher’s website
  • On Amazon! (Where you can/should leave reviews!)

On my site!

Yeah from the blog you’re reading right now!

I get more money that way.

Of course that’s the only reason I’m doing this is to be rich like R.L. Stine. Duh!

Or you can go into any bookstore and ask them to order it! That is also an option!

It should be noted I won’t have my own physical copies on my person to mail/hand out until next week sometime.

You can still place an order on here if you’d like at any time.

Follow all that? I think my brain did.

Thank you to everyone: Paige, Cody, Lia who made this possible.

That really means a lot to me. The End.

Jasmine Rice

iphone-20131210203925-0.jpg

It's those simple things like the smell of jasmine rice on a cool December night that remind me that, Smoggie Catt and me, we're doing alright.

I may attract have endured some bad luck in this life but Smoggie Catt really eclipse all that nonsense.

And that's my head though. My jasmine rice is done cooking and it's time.

Bye for now interwebs.

Lately

iphone-20131209205931-0.jpg

Lately...

  • I've had to step back from the internet and cellular phone quite extensively.
  • I've acquired a lot of new (new to me) furniture.
  • Portland, Oregon got really cold. Yay!
  • Smoggie Catt is learning the comfort of the couch is superior to that of the floor.
  • I haven't taken a lot of pictures because the view is just too good.
  • The sunrise view at my new work space is really rad.
  • I've been drawing A LOT!
  • I'm still waiting for more snow.

Head Though: Jesus the Christ...

Like legitimately believe he's real for a moment. Like the New Testament is the written account of Jesus the Christ the actual son of one and (possibly) only god.

Still following?

The concept of "earth time" to Jesus versus "heaven time" must have been the most fascinating feels. Just let your head think on it.

I'm not hating on anyone here, just thinking head thoughts aloud.

Now do you think Jesus was just a tadpole frozen in time?

That he was sent to Earth and ingested into Mary's body and then he aged here and went to heaven as a grown up?

Or was he a grown up in heaven that was zapped to a tadpole thing?

If he thought as god and humanoid. What does a god think in the belly of a human lady?

Maybe alien abductions are aliens recalling failed inceptions. Maybe. Maybe not.

But time... time on earth is not the same in heaven. On. In. Hmmm interesting. Never thought on those things.

What did that feel like?! What is time? I think it's but another creature's number. Numbers are for grown ups. I don't much like numbers.

I think in moments.

I wonder if my "life in moments" versus "9-5 business man's clock" is comparable to Jesus's earthly venture versus heavenly life.

Hmmm... but for real this time I need to go for a walk.

Bye Bye Interwebs.

Coming Soon! My First Book!

Once upon a time I said I was moving to Portland, Oregon because the grey clouds make me feel more creative.

I'm moving to Portland, Oregon to do something new...

I've been here just over a year and it's been way more magical than I could have ever hoped.

In the really near future you'll be able to purchase my first book!

I may be Virginian by birth, but I thank the stars I found Cascadia.

I've met some absolutely fascinating creatures, had some amazing adventures, and it's only just begun.

I believe in Cascadia and thankful for everyone who has taken me in and understood how I do.

All those words to say... this feels really surreal to have a book to show you how I do.

What is the book? Poems, proverbs, and other absurd words.

The way I cope with the madness that is life; how my head makes sense of things.

It's the fragmented parts I tell you whether it's in a doodle or written word that helped me cope with stuff whether cold toes or a broken heart.

It's those sentences that make me believe everything will be okay in someway, one day, someday(s),

I believe we spend way too much time waiting for something and forgetting just to be.

I hope when you read this book you understand. I can't wait to share it with all of you.

These words are a moment in time. A time I don't have time to reflect on and expand on at this moment.

My life over the past 3 years. A few sentences even older than that.

Some lyrics that never made it into songs found homes in previously written poems.

It's kind of fascinating to see it all blur together in one giant fragmented reality.

It's quite magical to see at least one person believed in what I was trying to convey.

I've got stacks on stacks of words of worlds to share with you guys in the future. This is only the start.

I don't claim to know it all, but I've learned a lot. I hope you'll join me on this journey.

Anyway.. buy my book because I want to be a rich or stuff! ;)

I have to go for now interwebs. It's cold outside and I want to go explore!

I'm just rambling at this point. Oops.

Live. Dream. Get lost in lost in between.

My Song Of The Day

Portugal. The Man - The Sun.

If you look real high you just might find
Sitting in the stars, glistening, glistening
Waiting for the band to come
Just waiting for that man to come.
Oh, I wonder...

Slip on down from the sun to climb,
Down to earth and down to things like time,
Because we are all, we are all just lovers,
Born of earth and light like all the others.

If you're talking to the moon,
The moon might sing about the universe
Shouting: "I don't need, I don't need time",
I breathe in time.
Where are we now?
Where are we now?

Slip on down from the sun to climb,
Down to earth and down to things like time,
Because we are all, we are all just lovers,
Born of earth and light like all the others.

If you're looking for the river just find the mouth,
It's grinding like gnashing teeth foaming out, foaming out,
Mixing up the hell to come.
Just mixing up the hell to come.

And it's fixing up to swallow me whole.
It's fixing up to swallow me whole.
It's fixing up to swallow my soul.
Fixing up to swallow me whole.

Slip on down from the sun to climb,
Down to earth and down to things like time,
Because we are all, we are all just lovers,
Born of earth and light like most these others.

Where, where are we now?
Where, where are we now?
Where, where are we now?
Where, where are we now?

Winter Is Coming

  • Today I wandered around Mt Tabor.
  • I hung up these shiny lights like vines that are fun to pretend are multi galaxies.
  • I made this futon mattress thing my new couch.
  • And I even retrieved my old man chair. I've missed it a lot.

Thank you Andrew and Elyssa for the help with moving.

Thank you Cody and Adam for the couch!

Winter is coming.

I can feel the creative energy churning.

Goodnight Interwebs.

Adventuring At Mt Tabor

Today I went wandering around one of my favorite places in Portland: Mt Tabor.

Incase you didn't Mt Tabor is an extinct volcano! Just whoa!

I walked where once upon a time there there was probably nothing more than lava.

Now there are trees so tall you can't help but think you've walked into a cathedral.

It's days like this made me lust for the Pacific Northwest.

This is Cascadia.

The misty rain against my face.

The smell of the Great Sequoia trees blowing through the air.

The sound of mud being stomped below.

Baby mushrooms covering the forest floor.

The purple and gold leaves of dying plants look like something straight from Alice's wonderland.

The tree limbs look like fingers of skeletons.

The skies were grey but full of light. The clouds moved quickly.

Never once did I feel soaked.

Today was a great adventure.

Thank you Mt Tabor for making me feel at home.

Hat!

Today my friend Jackie Jones and I were walking to our friend Hallow's first birthday when we found a free box!

Jackie recovered an umbrella, sweater, and hat! I recovered a picture of a mushroom and a hat!

We gifted Hallow a book about hats.

I feel the bio of this book really fit the current event.

Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of Jackie's hat as I got distracted.

It dub it a great adventure nonetheless.
